Lucy's 9 month Well Baby Check up
Lucy Jane had her 9 month Well Baby visit and again I am so grateful to have such a happy and healthy baby. Lucy did great at her apt and let Dr Craft check her out and didnt even cry for her shots. I dont know why neither of my babies cried for their shots (Callie had her 2 year shots last month and didnt cry either-I want to cry for shots sometimes!)
Lucy's Stats:
Weight 15 lbs 3 oz 3%
Height 27 inches 31%
Head 44 cm 73%
These stats have been pretty consistent with Lucy, except she was alittle lower with weight than usual but I attribute that to her being sick with an off and on fevers for 3 days and not eating much at all.

Nelson Beach Trip Reunion!
We decided to start a Nelson Family Summer Reunion and figured the beach would be the best place to have it each year since it is close, the kids love it, and it works for Jared. We rented a big beach house for us all for 4 days and didnt make too many plans. We all loved going down to the beach, eating fish and chips and salt water taffy (very recommended at the Oregon Coast) and enjoyed relaxing and spending time together! Callie and Porter love the beach and could spend all day there if we would let them. Callie loves playing in the sand and loves going into the water and -even though the Oregon Oceans are freezing-she gets soaking wet and runs and plays until we finally make her get out. Lucy also loved the sand and would just scoop up sand all day long and only tried to eat it once-she put it in her mouth-did not like it and never did it again. We had a sand castle contest and my very competitive husband worked hard and made sure that we won.
I love living so close to the beach (an hour and a half away) and I love the beautiful Oregon Coast. This is going to be such a fun new tradition and I am already looking forward to next year.
4th of July
I love the 4th of July-one of my favorite holidays. We have so many fun family traditions and I look forward to them each year and even more so now that I can share them with my girls. We went to the St Paul Parade in the morning and Callie loved the parade and picking up all the candy.

After the St Paul Parade we headed over to the Vela's house for some yummy breakfast
In the afternoon we headed over to Uncle Todd and Lisa's house for swimming, yummy bbq, and a big fireworks show!
Happy and grubby girl with her 4th of July cupcake!
St Paul Rodeo
We got to the St Paul Rodeo every year right before the 4th of July-I was alittle worried this year with both of the girls-but they did great and loved it!!! We did not stay for the whole thing, which is fine because it goes way into the night with fireworks past 11 ish. But we were able to get there early and enjoy some fattening fair food, Callie got to ride the Carousel, and we all enjoyed the horses and bull riders!
Callie loving her corn on the cob
Porter and Callie waiting to ride the Carousel together-such cute cousins
Callie would only let Uncle Brocky take her on the Carousel

Utah/Wyoming Summer Break Trip
Shawn gets a 2 week break for the Summer-so we decided to take advantage of that and head to Utah/Wyoming for a week to see some family. Before we left I had to take and document a picture of Shawn on his last day as a DS2 (second year dental student). Oh we are so happy to have him out of his second year (the hardest year by far) and moving on to the clinic and working on patients!
We left Saturday morning and made an overnight stop in Boise on our trek to Utah. My wonderful sister-in-law, Emily, reminded us when we got to their home in Provo that Sunday that it was our 6th year anniversary! So we spent it driving to Utah and staying with my brother and his wife in their little duplex in Provo on an air mattress with 2 babies next to us!
We did have some Sparkling Cider to help us celebrate the accomplishment of being married for 6 years, with 2 kids, and 4 years of undergrad and 2 years of dental school under our belts!
Callie was stoked when she found a ladybug at Uncle Brocky's house.
One of Callie's favorite things is to ride the carousels-so she was able to talk both Uncle Brock and Uncle Kyle to take her for rides.
After a few days in Provo with my Brothers, Brock and Kyle and Sister-in-Law, Emily we headed up to Wyoming to camp for the rest of the week with all of the Platts in the Uinta Mountains. Callie loved our tent and slept great in it and we had a "pack 'n play" for Lucy and she did great too. Our camping trip consisted of the girls getting filthy, campfires, a hike around Mirror Lake, s'mores, picking wild flowers each morning on our walks, lots of rock throwing and sand eating, good food, and fun time and great memories with family. I was worried about camping with a 24 month old and an 8 month old-but the girls both did great and loved being outside all day long!

Callie and her little cousin, Kalee, had so much fun playing together and spent most of their days throwing rocks into the river
We stayed very dirty all day long-and it made me crazy!!!
Grandpa Platt set up a ZipLine and the kids had fun taking it across the Bear River-Callie got on it too and loved it-she is such a brave girl!

We had a great trip but we were all so happy to pull into the drive way and get back into our normal routines again!!!
