Elder Nelson is HOME!!!

Elder Nelson came home on Thursday February 21st from serving 2 years in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.  With Kyle coming home that marked 5 for 5 kids serving missions for my parents-a great accomplishment!  We have all been so anxious and excited to have him come home.  Brock and Emily flew home from Utah as well that same morning and were even able to meet Kyle at the actual airport gate and surprise him!  Having the whole family together for the weekend was so amazing-nothing is better than FAMILY!

Grandma, Callie, and Grandpa walking in the airport and ready to meet uncle Kyle
Lucy and I waiting at the airport
Elder Nelson, Callie, Lucy and I
 Jared and Kyle
Group shot (just missing Savannah who was taking the picture)
 Brock and Juliette
 Emily, Callie, and Brock
I love this picture.  Kyle and Brock walking/chatting together toward the baggage claim
Its crazy to look back at all of things that have happened to us in the last 2 years while Kyle has been gone.  I was talking to Kyle and told him that there have not been to many changes for us while he was away and then I realized that there really have ALOT of changes for us these last 2 years.
-Shawn graduated BYU, I quit working, I had Callie, we moved to Oregon, Shawn started Dental School and almost hald way through, and we had Lucy!!!  So I think it is safe to say that a new state, new school, and 2 new babies is alot to have happen in 2 years.

Grandpa Nelson

I got nominated to make a photo book for my Grandpa Nelson's 80th birthday with pictures and letters from each of his kids, grand kids, and great grandkids.  It was a little time consuming but actually a very fun time going through old pictures of his life as a young boy, student, father, orthodontist, husband, Servant of the Lord, farmer, world traveler, grandfather.  I also enjoyed reading all of the words from his legacy of loved ones.
While I spent many days working on this book my little Lady spent her time making messes and getting into things that usually her mother would not let her get into.
The weather is warming up so we are trying to get outside alittle and blow bubbles, take walks, and feed the ducks, and jump in mud puddles.  Cant believe it is February and my little Brother is getting home from his mission this week, and Shawn is in the middle of mid-terms and half way done with another semester of school, and Valentines day has come and gone, and we are getting closer to our spring break trip to Utah/Wyoming and my babies get bigger and bigger each day!!!
I truly love spending each and everyday with my two little ladys.  They make my life complete and I would rather spend all day watching them grown then doing anything else in this world.  I consider myself so fortunate to get to stay home with them each day.
Callie is now thinking she is big enough to blow the bubbles herself.  Which usually means that she is covered in a bubbly mess by the time she is done

Callie has a new accessory...she has discovered sun glasses and loves them.  She wore them to church last Sunday and thought she was looking pretty good. Good thing they had them in the dollar section of Target and we bought a few pair because they are becoming a permanent in her wardrobe these days.
Callie has also discovered the binkies we have for Lucy (although Lucy does not really use the binky besides chewing on it) Callie has become addicted to them and will steal them and hide to suck on them.  So all binkies are gone now!  She never took a binky as a baby and I am not going to have her start now at 20 months.
Valentines lunch with my 3 valentines at the Dental School
And my sweet little Lucy Lady.  Such a great little baby.  So happy to have her in our family

We have not been to busy this cold and wet January.  We have tried to keep busy with activities each day indoors and we are looking forward to warmer weather and for Grandma and Grandpa to get back home to play with us too.
We have been to the Public Library for Toddler Time and enjoy the books and toys there
We have loved PJ time together in the mornings
8 am church gets us up bright and early-but we love getting to spend all afternoon/evening with Shawn-since its his only day off.

Lucy is trying out her walker and enjoys rides around the kitchen with Callie
Callie has really started enjoying legos and puzzles latley and especially when she gets to do them with her daddy.  She loved this big "Temple" so much that her daddy built that she gave it a big hug-
Lunch visits with daddy at the Dental School is one of our favorite activites
 Callie loves wearing her "pretties"

Lucy Jane

My Lucy Jane is 3 months old (tomorrow).  She is such a sweet baby.  She is the best sleeper and is so clam and chill all of the time.  She will go days without ever crying.  She is doing great with her tummy time and has even rolled over a few times too.  She has become a little talker and loves to make noises and is starting to put things in her mouth.  We love our little Lucy bug and are so happy to have her in the family!

"Chip"

My Little Wild Woman Callie had a bad fall and chipped her 2 front teeth!  We both cried and I was a little nervous to call Shawn (who was at school) to tell him what happened.  I was just sick to my stomach every time I saw them but was reassured by Shawn that we would get them fixed.  Well we talked with a Pediatric Dentist a couple days later and he looked at them and said there is nothing we can do for her until they fall out on there own...5-7 years!!!!!
So sad, but I am getting use to them more and more each day and now Shawn calls her "Chip" and she likes to smile big and show off her chipped tooth!
Good thing she is still so dang cute!

Christmas 2012

We had a great Christmas this year.  The best part was that we got to have Shawn home with us for 2 weeks.  Callie became very attached and didnt let her daddy get to far from her and she has been alittle sad with him back at school again.
We loved having Uncle Brock and Emily visiting and Callie enjoyed getting to know them again and enjoyed waking up and finding her Aunt Em-il-dee each morning.
Christmas is great with kids and Shawn and I were excited for Callie to get her play kitchen-and she has loved playing with it and making "cookies" for us all each day.
