Thursday morning Shawn and I arrived at the Central Utah Surgical Center at 6:15 am-Shawn went in for surgery around 7:30 and they called me in to see him in the recovery around 9-not to bad. Shawn was
alittle out of it at first when he came out of surgery-he kept telling me that he loved his-
BYU Blue cast-over and over. The Dr came in to talk to us about the surgery and Shawn told the Dr about 6 times that he feels fine and will not need any pain medication-the Dr let him know that he will need to take it and I assured the Dr that I will make sure Shawn takes his pain
meds.
The Dr said all went well and he had cut a 2 inch incision on the inside top of Shawn's foot where they cut a piece of extra bone out of his tendon and then re-attached the tendon to a different bone to heal and then set his
nevicular bone that had broke in half. While Shawn was out they also casted up his foot and now he has a "
BYU Blue" cast on his foot-which he will have for 2 1/2 weeks while on crutches and then he will get his black walking boot for another 4-6 weeks after that.
We are so happy that all went well with Shawn's surgery and he is doing very well at home. He has been keeping his foot elevated and iced and been relaxing at home in the recliner.

Shawn and I waiting for his surgery-Shawn slept and I read and got grossed out and nauseous when his IV started bleeding.

Shawn after surgery-he got some movies, a book, the computer, and his I-pod as well as some special drinks and treats near by- he is set!

Right on Shawn!! Now we are surgery buddies!! Later we can compare scars! ...But really...We missed you guys are the reunion. We kept wondering how you were doing, but no one had cell service. So we are glad to hear that all went well! (If it had been a kidney transplant we all would have skipped the reunion to be with you...esp me. Love you!)
