Shawn and I went to visit his sister Amanda and her cute baby Andy.
Picture of Shawn and I with our cute nephew Andy-what a happy and fun baby! I finally got these stickers in the mail and then got them sent out to all of my nieces and nephews. I was looking through the Costco Photo website and found that you can make stickers with pictures and I grew up loving stickers since I was a little girl-I didnt want to make stickers of myself so I decided to make stickers for each of my nieces and nephews. I found cute pictures of each of them and then ordered them and then patiently waited for them to come in the mail. I finally got my stickers and then sent them out to everyone-hope they enjoy!

Sorry Cael, Brecon, and Connor: I did not know how or where to mail stickers out to you since you are so far away but if your mom and dad can tell us how to mail things out to Germany for a cheap price then we will get some ordered and sent out to you too. We did not forget about you and we think about you all of the time!

Oregon

Well I just back from another trip to Oregon. I love going home! I really did not realize how amazing my family, home, and everything is in Oregon until I left almost 10 years ago and I really do look forward to all my trips home and to "hopefully" moving back someday.

This trip consisted of:

-Lots of baby Porter-he is the cutest little man I have ever seen. Blue eyes, lots of brown hair, and he looks just like his daddy. I love him so much!

-Boating on the Willamette with the Youds

-Fishing on grandpas dock and catching my first fish in many many years

-Trying to sleep in but still waking up by 7 everyday

-Lots of yummy dinners by my mom

-Fresh Blackberry cobbler from the never ending blackberry bushes everywhere

-The Far West Tree Convention in Portland-I look forward to going to this every year

-J Crew outlet

-Visits with extended family ( I love having grandparents, aunts, unlces, and cousins living so close to home)

-Lots of phone calls to Shawn-since he was still in Utah and could not come out since he was stuck doing research all week

-Playing dominos with the family

-My mom sewed some Sunbeam scripture bags for me to give to my little sunbeams

-Seeing Jared and Amys new house being built and so happy to have them living so close!

Shawn's Surgery

Thursday morning Shawn and I arrived at the Central Utah Surgical Center at 6:15 am-Shawn went in for surgery around 7:30 and they called me in to see him in the recovery around 9-not to bad. Shawn was alittle out of it at first when he came out of surgery-he kept telling me that he loved his-BYU Blue cast-over and over. The Dr came in to talk to us about the surgery and Shawn told the Dr about 6 times that he feels fine and will not need any pain medication-the Dr let him know that he will need to take it and I assured the Dr that I will make sure Shawn takes his pain meds.
The Dr said all went well and he had cut a 2 inch incision on the inside top of Shawn's foot where they cut a piece of extra bone out of his tendon and then re-attached the tendon to a different bone to heal and then set his nevicular bone that had broke in half. While Shawn was out they also casted up his foot and now he has a "BYU Blue" cast on his foot-which he will have for 2 1/2 weeks while on crutches and then he will get his black walking boot for another 4-6 weeks after that.
We are so happy that all went well with Shawn's surgery and he is doing very well at home. He has been keeping his foot elevated and iced and been relaxing at home in the recliner.
Shawn with his black boot and crutches right before we went to the surgical center Shawn in the pre-op room waiting to be rolled away for his surgery

Shawn and I waiting for his surgery-Shawn slept and I read and got grossed out and nauseous when his IV started bleeding.

Shawn after surgery-he got some movies, a book, the computer, and his I-pod as well as some special drinks and treats near by- he is set!

Shawn's foot drama

Last Friday Shawn was playing ultimate frisbee with his research lab and stepped into a pot hole and hurt his foot. Shawn's foot continued to hurt until Monday so he decided to go to a Podiatrist. We found out that Shawn broke his foot and needs to have surgery to reattach a tendon as well. So, now he is walking around in a big black boot and he is suppose to be using his crutches everyday...but the crutches seem to not move from the dinning room corner.
This upcoming Thursday Shawn is going to go in for surgery on his foot-hope all goes well!

Porter made the shelf

I have a family shelf in my dining room that has a picture of Shawn and I, then one of all of Shawn's family and then one all of my family...then my newest little Nelson nephew came and even though I have not seen him yet (but I am going to soon) I needed to get him added to the family shelf. So yesterday I finished my picture of Porter so he knows that he is loved and that he is part of the Nelson family!!! Up close picture of my tiny little Porter!
