4th of July

The 4th of July is always Shawn's favorite holiday. He loves going to the Rodeo and then having a big family BBQ and his favorite part of all is lighting off the fireworks-which has now become Shawn's responsibility. He is always in charge of setting the fireworks up and building a base for them to shoot off of and then to set everything up. Shawn loves it!

Shawn's last day of school at BYU!

I always take a picture of Shawn on his first day of each new semester and he is always standing in the same place in between our kitchen and family room with his back pack on....well I decided I needed to make sure and take a picture of his very last day of class at BYU for his undergrad degree in Physiology and Developmental Biology.
He was a very happy man knowing that was his last day of class at BYU...now he just has another 4 + years of school to look forward to.
We are so proud of Shawn and how well he did at school while at BYU.

Callie's first

Callie has been a busy girl this first month of her life and has lots of "firsts" for her mommy to record....

Her first family picture Her first ride home in her car seat. She did great in the car but her daddy was very nervous and cautious driving her home.

Callie's first day home (we got home from the hospital at 11 pm on Sat night-so I dont count that as her first day home)

Callie's first stroller ride. Her daddy could not wait to get her in her stroller to take her for a walk around the park behind our house.Callie's first bath at home. Her grandma and daddy got to give it to her while her mommy sat on ice and watched.Callie's first home (for 12 days). It was a good little home for her mommy and daddy for 4 years in Provo. Callie's first airplane ride. Callie and mommy got to fly home while her daddy and grandma and grandpa drove to Oregon with all their stuff. She did so good on the plane and slept the whole time.First 4th of July

First farm rides-she loves riding around the farmMiss Callie's first real bath (once her umbilical cord came off) Callie's first play. She got to go with her grandma, great grandma, mommy, and 2 aunts to see Mary Poppins in Portland.

Everyone outside the house before we left for the play.

Savannah, Callie, Carissa, Amy, Great Grandma Ellingson, and Grandma Grandma holding Callie at the play. She loved the play but did not appreciate the load music and clapping at the end of the show. Callie's first Sunday at Church. She looked so cute in her silver dress (her mommy could not wait to put on her with her silver shoes too) First date night with her mommy and daddy-slept the whole time. If she keeps that up she can go on lots of dates with her mommy and daddy! Callie's first pair of tiny Baby Gap jeans-and she looked so cute in them

And Callie-roos first birthday party. She got to go and help celebrate her cousin Porter's first birthday!
Porter eating his cake And Callie sitting back and enjoying the festivities with her daddyWe have loved having our little Callie Ann in our lives. She is such a great baby and makes each day and each thing we do a little bit more special! I am sure we have lots more "firsts" coming up for this tiny one and her mommy will make sure to record them all!

Moving to Oregon....Finally!!!

Here is a picture of my dad's truck loaded up and pulling our U-Haul back to Oregon

Finally I got to move back home to Oregon after 9 years away. We put my parents to work once they pulled in Tuesday afternoon and we started packing and cleaning right away. Wednesday morning Shawn took his final and was done with school and I was not a lot of help since I had a 2 week old baby to take care of and was still healing from giving birth but my Parents, Shawn, and Brock were busy. We packed up out house Wednesday and got it cleaned and my Parents and Shawn (with their very loaded up trucks) headed west. Callie and I got to fly home instead and we were not leaving until Saturday.

It was a little sad to leave our little house that we had been living in for the last 4 years. We really did love our little duplex and our yard and park but it was now time to move on and start the next chapters of our lives and going on to Dental School in Oregon with our new little baby in tow.

Its been awhile...

My parents Internet has been acting up lately and I have not been able to post anything to my blog. But I am now hoping to back track as much as I can-especially now with our sweet baby Callie and with everything going on in our lives recently.

I will start with Callie's Blessing.
My mom flew out on the Tuesday after Callie was born and her and my dad were not going to be able to get back to Utah until the next Tuesday and we were hoping to be packed up and driving home that Thursday so we decided that Callie's Blessing would be Tuesday evening at our Chapel. Most of Shawn's family was able to be there and I had my parents and little brother Brock there and we had a nice quick Blessing and then went to dinner together afterwards. It was a nice evening.
My mom made Callie's dress and it turned out so beautiful. Shawn said he was a little nervous to give the Blessing but he did a great job and it was very special to have his bless his daughter and to be together for such a special event with most of our family. This was a very special evening for us and I appreciated everyone that was able to be there for it.
